PhysioXtra Marion is situated in a new state of the art facility at 724 Marion Road, Marion.
The practice has been designed so you have access to a broad range of health professionals and Sporting Doctors under the one roof. The extensive resources provide you with a unique environment to manage your injury and achieve a positive result. Apart from offering Manipulative Physiotherapy, Sports Doctors, Podiatry and Masseurs, PhysioXtra Marion also has a fully equipped Pilates Studio where classes are conducted by highly trained and qualified Physiotherapists. There is also a Personal Trainer that will design a specific program for you to help with weight loss and/or to improve your fitness.
We can now provide specific advice on Women’s Health and particularly pre and postnatal patients. Our trained physiotherapists will provide assessments and treatment of Pelvic Floor Dysfunction (including incontinence, prolapse and defecation disorders), understanding both normal and complicated births, birth related pelvic floor trauma and the early postnatal patient, pregnancy related musculoskeletal, neurological and breast conditions, and the physiotherapists role in exercise during pregnancy (with a particular focus on high risk pregnancy and diabetes).
The practice is open from 8am to 7pm Monday – Friday and Saturday morning, providing flexible hours for you to make an appointment at a time that is convenient.
Kathryn Chigwidden (PhysioXtra Marion Director)
Kath leads a team of highly motivated and skilled physiotherapists that are committed to providing a high standard of hands on service. All the physiotherapists are highly trained in general musculoskeletal and sporting injuries and they work with various state and national representative teams. Extensive ongoing education is provided to ensure continual improvement and all physiotherapy consultations are 30 minutes to guarantee a thorough diagnosis and treatment.
Kath has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Physiotherapy (1986) and a Masters of Applied Science in Manipulative Physiotherapy (1994). Kath has extensive experience in sports and musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. She was head physiotherapist for the Adelaide Thunderbirds for 6 years and currently looks after Contax netball club in the state league. Further to her physiotherapy skills Kath also recently completed the Pilates – Studio Rehabilitation Series through Polestar Pilates International.
In 2004 Kath won the Telstra Business Women’s award in the Westpac Group Business Owner Category.
